10 things to do in Bovey Tracey this October half term 🎃

1. Spooky workshops with Pom Stitch Tassel
Of course, I had to start by telling you all about the workshops I have planned in my studio this half term.
Craft workshops to make spook-catchers, beginners and advance sewing workshops to make fabric pumpkins and cushions. And we even have a resident artist coming into show you how to make your own knitted wire Boo sign!

2. Free Pumpkin Hunt around Bovey Tracey
I have created a free pumpkin hunt for local families around Bovey Tracey.
Download our free activity sheet here, containing clues to find 15 pumpkins dotted around the town.

3. Trick and Treat at Bovey Tracey Library
We've teamed up with Bovey Tracey Library to offer you a craft morning, perfect for unwinding and having some relaxed time with the whole family.
Come along on Friday 28th October 10am - 12pm and make a pom pom bat or cat. Plus enjoy a hot or cold drink and a tasty treat. You will find us at the Riverside Centre, Bovey Tracey for this workshop.
Prior-booking is essential and you can do so by phoning or popping into the Library to confirm your space.
4. Family Craft & Bounce with Bovey Help Hub
We've also teamed up this holiday with Bovey Help Hub to offer you a fun morning involving bouncy castles and craft activities!
Join us on Thursday 27th October 10 - 12:30pm at Bovey Scout Hut for fun for all the family.

5. October half term fun at Canonteign Falls
This October half-term, join in on some spooktastic fun at Canonteign Falls.
They have a fantastic pumpkin hunt (included in your ticket price) and colouring competition, where kids get a chance to win a fun prize. Belle the Shetland pony in fancy dress, and all the usual fun and discovery Canonteign Falls has to offer.
For a little added fun, they are inviting all visitors to dress up for Halloween and share your fancy dress photos using the hashtag #canonteignfalls.
Canonteign Kitchen will be serving a seasonal lunch menu, Halloween hot chocolate, pumpkin spice latte and spooky cakes all week.

6. Spooky Happenings at the Miniature Pony Centre
Head to the Miniature Pony Centre for a half term full of fun. Join in on a miniature pumpkin hunt, there is story time with spooky tales, fancy dress competition and even a trick or treat sweet station. Each child will enjoy a free bag of sweets.
There is also pony walking, herding and rides.
Their Halloween event runs from Sunday 23rd - Saturday 29th October.

7. Enjoy Dartmoor with Dartmoor National Park
On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October join Dartmoor National Park for Spooky tails, Halloween trails and Moor Masks at their visitor centres at Haytor, Princetown & Postbridge. 10:30 - 3pm each day.

8. "Villains" Themed Halloween Workshop with Made for the Stage
Decorate halloween decorations, learn a dance and sing a song from some of our favourite Villains in Disney.
Workshop held at Ullacombe Farm barn on Sunday 23rd October 10:30 - 12:30pm.

9. Decorated Pumpkin Competition with Bovey Tracey Carnival
Join Bovey Tracey Carnival on Saturday 29th October at the Riverside Centre, Bovey Tracey. Bring along a carved or decorated pumpkin, enter their competition and you might win a prize!
Drop off pumpkins between 2:30 - 3:30pm and judging will take place at 5:30pm. £1.50 entry per person.

10. Our local Pumpkin Picking Patch
You can find our local pumpkin picking patch in Bickington - Devon Pumpkin Picking. They are open on 15th, 16th, 22nd - 30th October to pick your own pumpkins! For more information visit here.
