Our Stitch Clubs have proven so popular that we now have a monthly sewing club on a Saturday morning.
This club is suitable for those children that can't make it after school, due to other commitments or location. If you are available after school, please see our other Stitch Clubs (we currently have spaces on our Tuesday session).
Please note that availability for this club will come on a first come, first serve basis.
Usually our club runs on the first Saturday of the month but due to other commitments, a few of our dates are slightly different so please do check before booking.
Our Saturday Stitch Club is open to children age 7 - 17.
This club will start from March 2023 and will take place this year as follows:
Saturday 23rd September 10am - 12pm - Pencil Cases / Zipper Pouches
Saturday 7th October 2023, 10am - 12pm - Halloween themed Apron
Saturday 4th November 2023, 10am - 12pm - Slippers
Saturday 2nd December, 10am - 12pm - Patchwork Stocking
What does the club involve?
The club teaches children how to sew using a sewing machine. We may well do hand sewing from time to time but the majority of the sessions will involve using a machine.
Sewing machines are provided, as is all equipment. If your child has a sewing machine, we do suggest them bringing it with them if possible so they can learn on their own machine.
**Please note materials are not included in the cost, you will be asked to provide these as additional. Upon booking you will be notified of what materials you will need for each session. **
You have the option at each session to undertake the set project for that month or you can bring your own project in from home and have assistance on this. If you undertake our projects you should complete these within the two hours.
How does the club work?
We ask for children age 7+ to attend, as they can come without the need for a parent/guardian to supervise. A parent/guardian is welcome to stay for the session/s if they feel necessary but please notify us beforehand. Our craft tutor is fully insured, first aid qualified and DBS checked and can provide copies of the same should you require them.
There are a maximum of 8 places on each session, a minimum of 2 attendees must be booked on in order for this session to run. Please book your child's space. Spaces come on a first come, first serve basis.
Where possible please arrive five minutes before the club starts to drop your child/children off and then please arrive prompt at pick-up.
Our clubs take place at 53 Fore Street, Bovey Tracey, Devon, TQ139AB.
Should you need to contact us for any reason please call us on 07864009316.
Please ensure your child brings a drinks bottle with them and a snack if you wish.
