Stitch Club Friday session (after school sewing club) - Term Block NEW SESSION STARTING IN THE NEW YEAR/2023

Due to the large popularity of our after school Stitch Clubs, I have decided to start a new session on a Friday after school from the New Year.

This will take place every Friday after school 4-6pm.

Our first session in the New Year will commence on Friday 13th January 4-6pm and continue on 20th Jan, 27th Jan, 3rd February & 10th February and will be a 5 week term block.

Please note Stitch Club is only suitable for age 7-17.  Your child will need to be 7 before starting.  This is due to the fact we operate electric sewing machines.

If you are interested in your child joining us from the New Year please kindly book onto this block.

Please note there are only FOUR spaces available and once they are gone, I will only be able to offer a waiting list.  Our after school clubs are very popular and I recommend booking on as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

What does the club involve?

The club teaches children how to sew using a sewing machine.  We may do hand sewing from time to time but the majority of the sessions will involve using a machine. Sewing machines are provided, as is all equipment and most materials (except on larger projects - see below).  If your child has a sewing machine, we do suggest them bringing it with them if possible so they can learn on their own machine.

Each term we undertake a new sewing project, this will vary from home interiors to dressmaking projects, some will be short projects and others will take a full term to complete.  The children will of course take home everything they make.

For all projects going forwards we will ask you to source the materials.  We will let you know in plenty of time what you will need before the session.

Sewing machines, equipment, thread and some other haberdashary items are provided within the cost.   If your child has a sewing machine where possible, we do recommend that they bring it in and learn on it.

How does the club work?

We ask for children age 7+ to attend, as they can come without the need for a parent/guardian to supervise. A parent/guardian is welcome to stay for the session/s if they feel necessary but they are not expected to. Our craft tutor is fully insured, first aid qualified and DBS checked and can provide copies of the same should you require them.

Minimum/maximum numbers

Our Stitch after school club on a Friday is now open.  Our maximum number is 4 per sewing session.
