STITCH CLUB is our after school sewing club for children age 7-11 held every Thursday after school term time only.
This option is for a term block after May half term until the Summer.
Dates included are as follows: Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th June and 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th July.
This will be our last term block for the Summer. We will then be starting back a week late, with the next term block starting on Thursday 15th September.
We currently have 5 out of 5 places booked on the term block. If you click on the 'let me know when back in stock option' I will add you to our waiting list and when a place comes available I will be in touch (Please note this is on a first come, first serve basis). Alternatively we have 3 spaces left on Monday's after school club session if you are able to make then instead.
What does the club involve?
The club teaches children how to sew using a sewing machine. We may do hand sewing from time to time but the majority of the sessions will involve using a machine. Sewing machines are provided, as is all equipment and most materials (except on larger projects - see below). If your child has a sewing machine, we do suggest them bringing it with them if possible so they can learn on their own machine.
Every week we undertake a new sewing project, this will vary from home interiors to dressmaking projects. The children will of course take home what they make.
From time to time we may do bigger projects that require more than one session to complete the project, but if so we will of course let you know beforehand so you can book for the adequate number of sessions. For larger projects we may ask you to source the fabric (so that is is suitable for your child), if this is the case we will let you know within plenty of time and advise you of what you will need.
How does the club work?
We ask for children age 7-13 to attend, as they can come without the need for a parent/guardian to supervise. A parent/guardian is welcome to stay for the session/s if they feel necessary but they are not expected to. Our craft tutor is fully insured, first aid qualified and DBS checked and can provide copies of the same should you require them.
In order to run a workshop/club we must have a minimum of 3x people on each session at anyone time. The maximum numbers we can facilitate in the studio are 8 for craft and 5 for sewing.
Where possible please arrive five minutes before the club starts to drop your child/children off and then please arrive prompt at pick-up. Please wait outside the venue door and I will pop down and open the door up.
Our clubs take place at our studio premises in Bovey Tracey; Studio 2, 83 Fore Street, TQ13 9AB. We are in the old King of Prussia / new Bovey Paradiso building.
Should you need to contact us for any reason please call us on 07864009316.
Please ensure your child brings a drinks bottle with them and a snack if you wish.
It goes without saying if your child tests positive for Covid-19 or has been with someone that has tested positive, please don't attend the session. Please contact us to arrange a suitable alternative.
